Lidl in Epsom: What are your views?

What are your views on the proposed Lidl store being built in Epsom?

I personally think Epsom needs a supermarket shop and the Upper High Street is in desperate need of regeneration.

Separately, we also need to make use of the wasteland on the Upper High Street car park as it is an eyesore!!

I agree and it's about time that Epsom had an affordable supermarket, rather than only Waitrose and M&S (which is at the other end of Epsom!).

Tesco was trying to open in the upper high street old Iceland site and that was dropped at the planning stage(why???) and now we have Lidls - Let's hope whatever or whoever is stopping these planning applications starts to allow for some common sense!

We have a massive piece of land in the upper car park that over the years has become overgrown and neglected with no knowing what is in there, possibly rats/vermin, and a hoarding that has been round it for years now. looking like it's falling down in places and becoming dangerous.

Something has to happen and a good affordable supermarket will help everyone!
